December is such a bitter sweet month for us!! I love the baking and decorations, and the excitement of getting ready for Christmas. BUT, my kids have Christmas fever all month long and it’s like talking to a brick wall trying to get them to do something!! Each day till Christmas is like being on the show Survivor!! There are days I pray that the Lord will let the sun go up and down twice in one night so that Christmas will get here faster!!! They are a complete mess the entire month of December! Nothing helps either, no discipline, no elf on the shelf…nothing!! It’s like they are in their own little world and excitement and destruction is all that exist!!
We started out the month with a visit from some great friends we haven’t seen in over eight years!! We had a blast this weekend, playing games, watching the kids play and become quick best friends! Pumpkin rode her bike without training wheels for the first time this weekend!! That was exciting! We had lots of special treats and great fun and fellowship!! I was sorry to see them leave for home!! I also was pretty happy with the way my kids were behaving while they were here and hoped that it would last into the month of December…..not a chance!!
We are gearing up for some holiday traditions! Our first thing we are doing is the 1 book a day…I’m a little behind on that- but we didn’t quite make it to 25 books this year so starting on day 9 or 10 won’t be too much of a loss. I’ll be spending my afternoon today wrapping those little gems and getting them under the tree in time for our 2nd tradition this weekend…”The Christmas Express” We will be watching “the Polar Express” on Saturday, then reading the book that evening. The kids will go to bed and find a ticket on their pillow for “the Christmas Express” The grandparents will be joining us as we drive around looking at Christmas lights with popcorn and hot chocolate.
I also started a new business venture this month! I’ve become a Jamberry Consultant! I went back and forth on this because I did Arbonne a few years ago, and I didn’t want to wear out my friends. BUT, a momma has to make a living! My girls LOVE jamberries and so do I!! So I jumped in with both feet and have been praying ever since. Most of my business ventures has not taken off very well so I’ve been asking the Lord for some favor with this one. If you want to check them out, my website is itsmyjam82.jamberrynails.net. Always buy 3 get 1 free, and one sheet is 2 mani’s and 2 pedi’s and 8-12 accent nails!! Great deal!! Sure beats paying salon prices!!
I hope you all have a merry Christmas if you don’t hear from me by then!!
